  5. Rushed out less than nine months after the surprise success of Dire Straits' self-titled debut album, the group's sophomore effort, Communiqué, seemed little more than a carbon copy of its predecessor with less compelling material. Mark Knopfler and co. had established a sound (derived largely from J.J. Cale) of laid-back shuffles and intricate, bluesy guitar playing, and Communiqué provided.

Dec 24,  · Dire Straits - Where do you think you're going (Album: Communiqué, Year: ) Chords used: Am, F, G/F#, E/E7sus4 (E7sus4 - Variation 2 - ) - General strumming pattern should have a personal touch, however, I like to play the two bass strings (A and D)first, then strum the rest of the chord (witout the bass notes).

  9. Apr 23,  · No.5 would have been Going Home, but, despite being performed live by the band on more than one occasion, strictly speaking I suppose it was a Knopfler solo song. Their eponymous first album will always rank as one of my all time favourites, permanently in my Top Twenty.
